Achievements Review – Texas Cheat ‘Em

Yes! I’ve got a pair of queens and I’m pretty sure this guy I’m heads up with doesn’t have anything. Time for a big bet…he called! He can’t have anything. Let’s see this river card…an ace. Damn. I hope he wasn’t staying in this whole time on an ace. There’s no way. He’d be so lucky calling me when he had nothing before the river. I’ll put out a decent sized bet. Let’s see what you want to do now, Mr. Bigshot. ALL IN?! I’m pot-committed, now. I have to call. You’ve got to be kidding me; he won with aces on the river.

I hate being beaten by river cards. If only there was a way to cheat and not feel bad about it. Say hello to “Texas Cheat ‘Em”!

In this Xbox Live Arcade game, cheating is the name of the game. You can earn up to fifteen different cheating abilities, such as turning your hand into a sure thing, or knowing the community cards in advance (no more betting with an unmatched ace on the river for me).

It’s great how downright dirty you can get in this game. You can earn achievements for stealing another player’s chips, using x-ray vision on another player’s cards, and even having five of a kind (try explaining that one to the pit boss). For traditionalists, there’s the “You’re Missing The Point Here” achievement, for making a straight or better without using any cheats. My personal favorite achievement is “Like a Bad Rash” that is unlocked through folding, then winning the hand by unfolding. Can you see the look on Phil Ivey’s face with that one? If you really suck at poker, you can always unlock the “Overkill” achievement by using five or more cheats on a single hand.

If anything, you’ll have fun just pretending you have superpowers and taking out your opponents one by one. Come on, anyone who has played poker has thought about it. Now you get to do it!

For those that grew up in the 1980’s: they remember those classic arcade games very well. The days when video games were few, but played with great enthusiasm. Very much like the early years when cars were first introduced and there was only the Model T Ford to select, and the only color it came in was black! People still loved to drive that Model T and it was quite popular. Just as those classic arcade games were popular in their original heyday, they are still just as popular today with the children of those who first played them in their youths.

As the Pac Man goes around the maze, he has the ability to eat special goodies that can win the player even more points. However, he must avoid the gremlin guys that are after Pac Man. These gremlins come in several colors and float kind of like ghosts. Pac Man was so popular, that very soon Ms. Pac Man was introduced with a female version of the Pac Man game.

Tetris is another popular classic arcade game. This game involves stacking squares and rectangles to make perfect lines that quickly vanish, achieving the player great points as they vanish. The game starts out nice and easy, with the Tetris boxes and rectangle shapes coming at you quite slowly. However as you achieve various levels, they come much more quickly and the game gets tougher and tougher as you go. This is a game for someone who is quick on the trigger finger and is great at spatial things.

Frogger is classic arcade game that many people love. It is very easy to fall in love with a cute little froggy trying to cross a busy highway. Anyone in their right mind would want to help out this froggy to get to the other side! Frogger must cross difficult traffic, often advancing both forwards and backwards with the traffic. Both cars and trucks will appear on the highway. Again, like most arcade games the game gets tougher as you get better at it. The cars and trucks get faster and the highway gets even wider for Frogger to cross.

Today there are so many arcade games to play. Sometimes it feels like it is hard to keep track of exactly how many games there are out there that both children and adults can enjoy. Emulating Arcade Games

Emulations is the process of making classic arcade games available for people to enjoy on new systems for which they were not originally intended. This is quite a challenging feat, but is made possible with some effort. Therefore, it is better to emulate older game systems rather than newer ones or later models of Atari.

Instead, the only thing that person has to do is write them with an upright emulator. This helps the classic arcade game enthusiast acquire exact replicas of many older arcade games much faster.
